Students at Goodwin Academy celebrate opening their A-Level results

Today, students and staff at Goodwin Academy located on Hamilton Road, Deal, and part of Thinking Schools Academy Trust, are celebrating after receiving their A-Level grades.

This year, students at the Academy have achieved well following two years of dedication to their studies. Many students are now preparing to head on to the university, apprenticeship or job of their choice.

The Academy saw particular success in Sport Diploma, Health and Social Care and Applied Science, where a large majority of students achieved a Merit grade or higher.

While all students have done well, there are some standout individual achievements. These include:

  • Marissa Smiejkowski who achieved a Distinction in Health and Social Care and Merits in Applied Psychology and Applied Science. Marissa will be attending the University of London to study Paediatric Nursing.
  • Scarlet-Rose Stevens who achieved B grades in Criminology, English Literature and History. Scarlet will be attending the University of Kent to study Creative Writing and Literature.
  • Matthew Walker who achieved Merit grades in Applied Psychology, Applied Science and Health and Social Care. Matthew will be attending Keele University to study Paramedic Science.
  • Heavenly Jenkins who achieved a Distinction in Applied Psychology, C grade in Criminology and a Merit in Health and Social Care. Heavenly will be entering the world of work where she hopes to utilise her knowledge and skills gained over the past two years.
