Students enjoyed a visit from local bio-pharmaceutical company Pfizer as part of the ‘Science in a Box’ initiative. Pfizer is one of the world's premier innovative bio-pharmaceutical companies, discovering, developing, and providing over 150 different medicines and vaccines to help improve the lives of millions of people in the UK and around the world.
Research and Develpment scientists from Pfizer led a session for our Year 9 students that was focused on drug discovery and development. During the day, the students took part in a mock clinical trial involving jelly beans.
The clinical trial process was very interesting to the students, and they loved the chance to learn from a leading science company in the area.
